The Chicago Police Department will conduct a Roadside Safety Check in the (08th) District, at 6450 South Western Ave.  The Roadside Safety Check will commence at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2012 and end at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012.

During roadside safety checks, police officers slow down traffic, stop cars at regular intervals and watch for drivers who show signs of alcohol impairment and other violations as noted below.

“This program is conducted year round to ensure drivers are operating their vehicles safely,” said Superintendent, Garry F. McCarthy.  “This month, roadside safety checks will assist in the citation and removal of individuals operating vehicles in an unsafe manor.”
