A large operation was carried out by the Federal Police in the colony groves, in the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua.
Authorities released information that they were going for a major leader of a cartel involved in drug trafficking. They have since confirmed the important capture of Jose Antonio Acosta Hernandez, better known in the world of drug trafficking as The Diego, who has been responsible for transporting drugs into the United States amongst other crimes. Federal Police arrived at the exclusive colony and were immediately confronted by a group of gunmen. There was a firefight for several hours. Eventually Federal agents surrounded the residence of El Diego and he was captured along with another person whose name is unknown.
El Diego is considered the head of The Line, the armed wing of the Juarez Cartel.
Many may recall the recent message sent to the DEA signed by El Diego in which he threatened dismemberment. Things have certainly turned with his capture.
The leader of the line is believed to be responsible for the car bomb that exploded last year, among other crimes. Officials from the Federal Police along with U.S. security individuals have transported El Diego to Mexico City.
