Colombian chef Ingrid Hoffmann is making her dream of getting into more Hispanic homes a reality with the help of the Univision television network, on which her cooking program “Delicioso” will be broadcast.
“It’s a dream (I had) when I began to write down the idea for my program on paper 15 years ago,” Hoffman said in an interview with Efe.
This Saturday the leading U.S. Spanish-language network will begin broadcasting the chef’s program at 1 p.m., and she says it’s been a “long and difficult” road to get to this point.
“Things happen when they have to happen,” she added, although she admitted that she “could never have dreamed” that her dream would turn out so well.
Besides the TV program, Hoffman will get through to the public with her cooking advice on the social networks, mobile apps and radio.
Thus, her cooking program will be interactive.
“I invite the public to join the forums (social networks) to pose questions to me about the recipes I’m making. The good thing is that, practically, they have the chef at their disposal at any time, except when I’m sleeping,” she joked.
The new overall project “still doesn’t exist on any cooking program,” said Hoffman, who has appeared on “Ellen,” “Oprah,” “Martha Stewart,” “The Today Show,” “The Early Show” and “Good Morning America.”
