Actor Armie Hammer, famous for his roles in “J. Edgar” and the “Social Network” was arrested in Sierra Blanca, Texas on drug-related charges.
According to E! Online, police in West Texas arrested Hammer after drug-sniffing dog encountered .02 ounces of marijuana, three marijuana-laced cookies and one brownie in his car last November. Hammer spent the night in jail and was released on $1,000 bond. The district attorney has no plans to prosecute because the law would require more than 4 ounces of marijuana for a felony charge.
There is the possibility that prosecutors could pursue lesser charges, but so far nothing has been presented.
Sierra Blanca, Texas is a small border town, approximately 15 miles from the Mexican border. With only 500 or so residents, most of which are Latinos - we wonder what Armie was doing there? The November 30th report is just coming out now and was originally reported by the AP news wire.
