Mexico’s Demian Bichir will be in the running for best actor honors here on Feb. 26 when the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences hands out the Oscars.

Bichir was nominated for his role in the immigration drama “A Better Life” and will clash for the prize with George Clooney (“The Descendants”), Brad Pitt (“Moneyball”), Gary Oldman (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”) and Jean Dujardin (“The Artist”).
