The Disney company is hoping to strike gold twice with its ABC ‘Brothers and Sister’ television show. The now cancelled show is getting a Latin American remake with a Colombian version being produced.
The local Colombian version will be compromised of 80 to 120 episodes running Monday through Friday like a telenovela. ABC has a history of remaking some of their more successful television shows for Latin American audiences.
The revised original will air on Colombia’s RCN TV and Vista Productions some time later this year.
Since 2006 Disney, ABC Studios has created Latin American versions of ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Grey Anatomy’ and ‘The Golden Girls’.
“Brothers and Sisters” starring Calista Flockhart, Sally Field and Rob Lowe focused on the ups and downs of the Walker Family. The show was cancelled last May after enduring for five seasons.
