When futbol player, Salvador Cabañas was shot back on January 25, 2010 no one thought that he would survive the close range bullet to the head or that he would return to professional playing when the bullet remained in his skull.

The former Paraguay and Club America striker has proven everyone wrong much to the delight of all his supporters in Latin America.  This past Friday the 31-year-old soccer player returned to the field for 15-minutes of play with the division three ‘Club 12 de Octobre’ in Paraguay.

The striker has limited vision in his left eye and otherwise has been deemed healthy by his doctors in spite of having the bullet lodged inside him.

Cabañas was shot in the bathroom of a bar in Mexico City with the entire incident being captured on video tape.  Narco Jose Jorge Balderas was arrested a year after the shooting, allegedly the pair fought over futbol, Cabanas maintains it was a robbery.

Cabañas was the most prolific goal maker for all the Americas in 2007 and had strong seasons all the way up to the day he was shot.
