Chicago Police have arrested and charged seven teenagers in connection with the robbery and beating of a 17-year-old student in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood. The offenders videotaped and uploaded the attack onto a social media site where viewers helped police locate and apprehend the offenders.
Raymond Palomino, 17, of the 3500 block of S. Hoyne Av. was charged as an adult with one felony count each of robbery and aggravated battery.
Three fifteen year-old males, two 16-year-old males and a 15-year-old girl also face the same charges in juvenile court.
The victim was lured into an alley in the 2800 block of S. Princeton Av. where the video clearly illustrates the attackers punching and kicking the teenage victim as they robbed him of his gym shoes, wallet and money.
The 17-year-old victim sustained non life-threatening injuries as he was able to break away from his attackers and flee the scene barefooted while the teens continued pursuing him on foot.
Palomino was expected to appear in Felony Bond Court today.
