The Dominican Republic repatriated the first group of Dominican citizen’s deported from the U.S. – 132 criminals.  This first group arrived yesterday at Las Americas Airport on a special plane chartered by Immigration and Naturalization Service.

The group that was escorted by eight U.S. federal agents came from prisons throughout the U.S.  The group had been arrested in the U.S. for charges ranging from identity theft to drug trafficking to murder.

Upon being received back home the ex-convicts will go through a back ground check to see if they are wanted in the Dominican for any crime if not they will be free to go anywhere in the country.

Last year the U.S. deported 3,878 Dominican ex-convicts via flights leaving the U.S. two-to-four times a month.
