During a concert this week in Latin America, music group LMFAO had to leave the stage and cut their performance a bit short after a fire broke out.
LMFAO, known for the hit dance tracks “Sexy and I Know It” and “Party Rock Anthem”, had to be taken off the stage when a fire erupted on stage at the Coliseo Nacional de Ingenieros in Tegucigalpa, Honduras Thursday.
The fire it believed to have been started by electrical lines that had overheated.
After the show was halted, LMFAO member Redfoo (born Stefan Kendal Gordy) took to Twitter saying, “Epic concert tonight!!!! Everybody in Honduras, we set the place on fire!!!! #sorryforpartyrocking.”
Though local reports stated that around 15 people were treated for smoke inhalation, no one was seriously injured.
When a fan on Twitter asked Redfoo what happened, he responded, ““They told us there was a fire when we were on stage. Then we went to the dressing rooms and there was smoke in the halls.”
Though he initially joked about the situation, he added, :“On a serious note, hope everybody is safe from the fire tonight! Love you Honduras!”
LMFAO’s hit “Sexy and I Know It” recently knocked Rihanna out of the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. They’ll be shufflin’ in the new year in Las Vegas at Haze nightclub.
Th group is made up of DJs Redfoo and his nephew SkyBlu. Redfoo is a former day trader and is the son of music mogul Berry Gordy, founder of the Motown record label.
