It was just three weeks ago that 19-year old Selena Gomez excitedly announced her mother was pregnant and she was going to be a big sister.  Reports are now surfacing that her mother, Mandy Dawn Cornett, suffered a miscarriage forcing Gomez to cancel this weekend concert performances.

Gomez was slated to perform in Chicago and in Seattle and then reports surfaced that she had canceled both performances due to a ‘family emergency’.  Some sources are saying the miscarriage occurred on Friday.  It is not known if she will continue with her New Year’s hosting gig for MTV.

The baby was going to be Selena’s first sibling from her mother and stepfather Brian Teefey’s marriage.
