When Christopher Meloni moved on from NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, it left many wondering who would take his place, but now questions have been answered. Danny Pino, formerly of Cold Case, will join the cast.

Pino will be partnered with former Chase star Kelli Giddish as the precinct’s new detectives.

The announcement was made earlier this week by NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt who said, “Kelli and Danny are two great actors who will join a proven cast headed by Mariska Hargitay as this exceptional series heads into a very promising 13th season.”
