Though details remain scarce, police are searching for the Hispanic man they believe is responsible for the shots fired near the White House this week.
Friday, witnesses reported hearing gun shots near the White House. According to the reports, witnesses heard gunfire and saw two vehicles speeding away. Upon investigation of the area, officers found an AK-47 rifle.
Two casings were recovered Tuesday on White House grounds, one having being stopped by ballistics glass from a double-paned window.
The Secret service has not determined whether the rounds recovered were a result of the shots heard on Friday, but an arrest warrant has been issued by the U.S. Park Police for Oscar Ortega-Hernandez.
Ortega-Hernandez, also known as Oscar Ramiro Ortega, was described by Park Police as a 21-year-old Hispanic man, standing about 5’11, 160 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair.
