Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez will appear on Dec. 10 at the National Fine Arts Museum in Havana where he gave his first concert 44 years ago, state media reported.
Rodriguez’s performance is on the program of activities organized by that institution to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its reopening, museum director Moraima Clavijo said.
From the beginning officials thought of inviting the artist, one of the founders of Cuba’s “Nueva Trova” style of music, “since it’s the place where the writer of ‘Te Doy una Cancion’ (I Give You a Song) staged his first show,” Clavijo said.
