Authorities in the province of Los Rios, Ecuador are investigating the deaths of 21 people from homemade alcohol that appeared to be contaminated with methanol.
Overall there were 103 people treated for consuming the deadly homemade brew of adulterated alcohol. Police have seized some 55 gallons of toxic brew.
The Public Health Minister David Chiriboga has put in an emergency law that will prohibit the sale and consumption of homemade alcohol. The owner of the toxic brew is still being sought by police.
