The accolades for Army soldier turned actor (turned dancer), J.R. Martinez keep coming. On ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”, Martinez and his partner, professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, danced their way to two perfect scores from the judges.
Monday night, Martinez and Smirnoff first ‘perfect 30’ dance was a waltz, which judge Bruno Toli said “was like a musical Valentine card. You danced with your heart on your sleeve.”
The second set of perfect scores came after a fast-paced Jive. However, as an added challenge, all dancers were given a dance, and had less than an hour to prepare before they were to take the stage.
Even with the challenge, Martinez and Smirnoff impressed both the audience and the judges.
Judge Carrie Ann Inaba told the pair, “You’re in a class all of your own. There’s nobody even coming close to you guys tonight.”
