Kids favorite detective ‘Carmen Sandiego’ is getting ready to become a feature film star, starring Jennifer Lopez in the title role.  The Hougton Mifflin educational video and computer game features the ‘world’s greatest detective becoming the world’s greatest thief’ and has been a teaching tool for young kids for years.

When the character became an animated TV series it developed a bigger following.  Now Walden Media has acquired the rights to create a film about this beloved character and will title it “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?”

Lopez, who just wrapped up ‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ with fellow Latina Cameron Diaz, is reported to be a producer on this live action version through her Nuyorican Productions.
