On Tuesday, ThinkProgress launched a petition requesting a Department of Justice investigation into potential violations of U.S. law by News Corporation, owned by Rupert Murdoch.
In the last four days, over 13,000 people signed the petition and eight members of Congress, that include Senators Jay Rockefeller, Barbara Boxer, Frank Lautenberg, and Robert Menendez. This action was done in light of the News of the World, owned by News Corporation that also owns the Fox Network, hacking scandal in the United Kingdom.
