Kanye West, the man who has pegged himself as the voice of this generation, has been asked to speak to Alabama legislators about the state’s harsh new immigration law.
A petition with nearly 1,000 has asked the rapper/producer to speak with Alabama leaders during while in Birmingham for his Watch the Throne tour alongside rapper/mogul Jay-Z.
The petition began on the website Change.org by William Anderson, a Birmingham resident, who asked others to join him in his attempt to get West’s attention.
The Alabama law, formerly known as House Bill (HB) 56 has been called discriminatory and racist by many, and has been deemed the most anti-immigrant law in the nation.
