The body of a missing Arkansas girl was found in a pond near Little Rock on Monday, and her death has been ruled a homicide by police.
Patricia Guardado has been identified as the girl found in a pond near a cemetery about 10 miles from Little Rock in Sweet Home, AR.
Guardado went missing October 12th, after leaving her parents’ home around 8:45 a.m. She reportedly had a 9 a.m. calculus class at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, but never made it to the class. Her car was found near the school, and authorities are searching for evidence of what happened to the 20-year-old.
Her uncle, Gerardo Garcia Ramirez told Fox News that he was shocked not only by his niece’s death, but also by the lack of information given to the family by police.
Authorities have not named any suspects and say they are unsure of how long her body had been in the pond. A spokesperson did say that Guardado’s body was found by fishermen who noticed a gate leading to the water was open, and went to investigate why. Authorities were then called.
