Like many children, Herbert Chavez had dreams of being Superman, flying through the air, saving the world from destruction time and time again, but Chavez took that dream to the extreme.
Since 1995, Chavez, 35, has undergone numerous plastic surgeries to alter his body to better resemble the Kryptonian superhero. Confirmed surgeries include chin augmentation to create a cleft in his chin, rhinoplasty to give him Christopher Reeves’ nose, silicone injections to plump up his lips, and thigh implants.
He is also said to have had eye surgery, cheek augmentation and jaw augmentation, though these surgeries have not been confirmed.
In a video report from Marie Lozano of Bandila News, one psychiatrist, though having not treated Chavez, believes the man may have Body Dysmorphic Disorder, which has caused an obsession with cosmetically changing his body.
Though many actors have played the iconic hero, it appears Chavez has picked features from all of them to give him the Superman look.
And while he’s become obsessed with looking like the superhero, he also has a vast Superman collection which includes life-size replicas of the action hero, t-shirts, posters, linens, and of course the iconic blue, red, and yellow caped-costume.
Chavez currently lives in the Philippines and reportedly works as a pageant trainer.
