Celebrate with Hispanically Speaking News ‘National Taco Day’ and enjoy a crispy, meat stuffed taco somewhere.  This Mexican dish is traditionally filled with chicken, beef, veggies or seafood.  But now a days you can find alligator tacos, african lion tacos, cheese tacos - you name it just put it in a taco shell.

In 1520, the conquistador Hernando Cortez wrote to King Charles V of Spain to describe his experiences in the New World. In his letter he mentioned a delicious meal the Aztec inhabitants prepared with “tlaxcalli” or “tortilla.”

It is the first historical reference to tacos!
