This week saw a clash between Drug Cartel criminals and the Mexican Army, specifically the 66 Infantry Battalion in Ciudad Delicias, Chihuahua.
The shooting occurred in the town of Rosales, Chihuahua, when military forces persued several armed men who tried to escape and the chase ended in confrontation with a gunfight.
Eight of the criminals were captured. Soldiers used a 40 mm grenade launcher during the fight and four people were killed.
The event triggered the cancellation of the traditional ceremony, the Grito de la Independencia, as the authorities said that their main priority was to protect the population.
