The Grande Central Area detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 24-year-old male early this morning in the Humboldt Park area.
The man, identified as Dwayne Wilks Jr., of the 8300 block South Green Street was standing on Potomac Avenue in Humboldt Park at the 4100 block when a vehicle drove by as shots were fired from the vehicle.
The incident that occurred at 2:45 a.m. according to police left Wilks seriously injured with gun shots to his chest and back at the scene, he later died at Mount Sinai Hospital.
