As many watch in white-washing horror, Ben Affleck has cast himself as a Latino former CIA agent in the movie Argo, based on the real-life story of Antonio Mendez, and his plan to rescue six American embassy workers from Tehran, Iran in 1979 using a fake sci-fi movie project as a cover.
What has many worried is the fact that Affleck, who will be directing the film as well, is not the least bit Latino, and is known for being very proud of his Irish heritage.
With Affleck in this role, it really doesn’t allow the audience to experience a strong Latino actor in a role based on a real person.
