The dark comedy film, ‘Birdman’, written, produced and directed by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu has added actor Edward Norton to its ensemble.

This will be Inarritu’s first dip into the comedic field, he is better known for his dark dramas like ‘Babel’, ‘Biutiful’ and ’21 Grams’.

The ‘Birdman’ cast also includes Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Michael Keaton and Zach Galifianakis.  The comedic film centers on the story of an actor who once played a famous superhero and is now faced with a wounded ego at the loss of fame and fortune.

Production is due to start in early April.  This will be reunion for Inarritu and Watts who worked together on his 2003 film ’21 Grams’.

Inarritu is the first Mexican director to be nominated for an Osacar for Best Director for ‘Babel’, a film that garnered 7 Academy Award nominations including Best Picture.
