What would an all-star soccer match be without FIFA’s four-time player of the year, Lionel Messi.
On July 6th, the Argentina superstar will make his Chicago debut at Soldier Field for an all-star match that will include 36 of the world’s best players.
The event to be called “Messi and Friends,” is being held to raise money for the Leo Messi Foundation, a children’s foundation formed in 2007 to help at-risk and sick children.
The other all-stars will not be announced until March or early April.
After the Messi event, Soldier Field will also be hosting the championship game of th CONCACAF Gold Cup on July 28, the first time doing so since 2007.
