On Tuesday, a Washington couple were heading to the hospital because the woman was in labor.

Running out of time and still too far from Madigan Army Medical Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, the father pulled over on State Route 512 and helped his wife deliver the baby.

Many people sent the couple well-wishes after the story made local news. Though the names of the couple were not released, Washington State Patrol troopers said the baby and mother are doing well.

On Wednesday, the parents released a statement saying, “Thank you to everyone who responded last night. We are also grateful for the kindness and care we received at Madigan. Our family has been blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Anneliese Patricia Sanchez arriving at 10:30 p.m., February 19, weight seven ponds, four ounces.”

Congrats to the parents! What a way to enter the world, baby Anneliese!
