It was the late Jenni Rivera’s night at Premio La Nuestro awards but her eldest son Michael missed the tribute after being arrested and jailed in Miami.
Miami police charged the 22-year-old with criminal mischief for vandalizing. He was arrested near the tourist area on 16th and Washington Avenue. It is not known what he vandalized but the damages are estimated between $100 –to-$1,000. After posting a $1,000 bail Angelo Trinidad Marin (his legal name) was released early this morning.
Michael, 22, is one of the “Queen of Bandas” six children and not the first time he faces the long arm of the law. Back in 2010, the then 19 year-old was arrested on charges of sexual misconduct, sodomy and other sexual charges with a minor.
The singer was being honored posthumously last night and won five Premios including for Pop Song of the Year and Pop Album of the Year.
Rivera, 43, died in a plane crash in Monterrey, Mexico in December when she was traveling with her entourage to Toluca, there were no survivors.
