While Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio was building his international credentials in the Middle East he apparently couldn’t escape from his ‘thirst’ issue.

Rubio was chosen to give the Republican response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address, but while he was speaking, he seemed to suffer a bout of dry mouth so reached for the smallest bottle of Poland Spring water.  The incident has been spoofed on SNL and Colbert, amongst others. 

We aren’t sure if it was that he was so parched?  Or was it that he kept looking into the cameras as he made the cringe-worthy creep across the cameras?  Or was it that as ‘Savior’ of the Republican Party he shouldn’t need water like other mere mortals.

Either way while meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the issue came up again as the two men toasted with bottles of water.  The pic has been making its way around the twiiter-verse.  Rubio has been using the water incident to his benefitting fund raising $100,000 from it.

This is the junior’s Senators second trip to Israel and comes days ahead of President Barack Obama’s first visit in early March.
