Lionel Messi is once again proving why he’s considered the best in the world.

At just 25, the Argentine striker just hit 300 club goals with Barça in their match against Granada. During the game, Messi landed goals 300 and 301 with Barcelona, which makes him one of the only to score than many goals with a single team. Messi is one of the youngest to reach 300 club goals (the youngest in La Liga history), and did so in just 365 matches with Barça. To compare, Christiano Ronaldo hit 300 club goals as well (with Real Madrid) but it took him 499 matches to do so.

Messi has scored in 14 consecutive games with Barça and continues to improve that record. He is also the first player in La Liga history to score a goal in 10 straight road games. He currently has 37 Liga goals this season, 20 of them at away games.

Over all, Messi has scored 332 goals in 442 games with club country, while Ronaldo has 344 in 604 club and country games. Ronaldo also reached his 300th club goal at the age of 28, while Messi just did it at 25.

He may be a record breaker, but Messi is all about the team, often saying the records don’t matter, because playing well is about getting team wins.

Barcelona is scheduled on take on Milan on Tuesday.
