Rapper Lil Wayne claims he was kicked out of Sunday’s match-up between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers for rooting for the Lakers.

During the game, which was in Miami, Lil Wayne tweeted he was rooting for the Lakers when he was told to leave.

However, a man named Danny Vega says the rapper was not thrown out for his allegiance, but rather because of a threatening encounter with a Miami fan.

On the night of the game, Vega tweeted:

Random guy yelled at Lil Wayne at #MiamiHEAT game,” tweeted Vega. “Weezy looked back, gave him a mean stare & gestured he had a gun. LOL what a douche.

Lil Wayne was tweeting that night as well, and after leaving the game posted:

So I’m @ da Heat game right, rootin 4 da Lakers kuz dats my team & would u believe they got police 2 make me leave?!” wrote Weezy. “Wow! F#CK da Heat.

The third version of events comes from a Miami Heat spokesperson who said the rapper left of his own accord, and was not thrown out of the arena. He did not comment on whether members of the security team approached Lil Wayne before his exit.

The game ended with a Heat win at 107-97.
