A New Mexico man is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and biting her.
On February 3rd, shoe salesman Daniel Anaya, 27, allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s south Santa Fe apartment. The girlfriend told police she had ender their relationship in November.
After breaking in, Anaya asked if he could smell her feet, but when she said no he became angry and slammed her against the wall and threw her to the ground. He then forcibly removed her shoes and socks and bit her left big toe. Anaya reportedly bit down so hard his teeth went through her nail and down to the bone.
The victim was able to get away by kicking Anaya and crawling to a neighbor’s door and yelling for help.
Oddly enough, the girlfriend, who was not identified, said she had broken up with Anaya after he bit the very same toe.
Santa Fe police have called the case, “Extremely odd.”
Anaya was arrested three days after the incident and charged with false imprisonment, interference with communications, burglary, and aggravated battery against a household member.
He is being held in Santa Fe County jail in lieu of a $50,000 cash-only bond.
