Thirty days in jail – that’s what a Florida teen was handed after he cursed at and flipped the bird to a Miami judge.
Penelope Soto, 18, had been arrested for illegal possession of Xanax when she appeared before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat on Monday.
Rodriguez-Chomat, who was trying to determine Soto’s bond asked her how much her jewelry was worth. When Soto laughed at him, the judge told her, “It’s not a joke. You know, we’re not in a club right now… Be Serious about it.”
When she finally answered, Soto told the judge her jewelry was worth “Rick Ross [money]. It’s worth money.”
Rick Ross is a famous and wealthy South Florida hip-hop star.
Soto then changed her tune saying no, it wasn’t worth that much.
Video shows Judge Rodriguez-Chomat setting her bond at $5,000 then wryly said, “Bye-bye,” to which Soto responds with a laugh, “Adios,” and starts to walk out.
Before she was out of his sight however, Soto was called back before the now annoyed judge, who then raised her bond to $10,000.
“Are you serious?” Soto responded.
“I am serious,” said Judge Rodriguez-Chomat. “Adios.”
Soto, clearly not caring who she was addressing then cursed at the judge and gave him the finger.
Once again, Soto’s attitude did not go unnoticed and she was again called back by the judge who sentenced her to 30 days in jail for contempt of court.
Watch the video here, and tell us, do you think she was on some kind of drug as she stood in front of the judge?
