Customs and Border Protection agents at the U.S.-Mexico Border say they arrested a woman attempting to cross into the U.S. with drugs hidden in her vaginal cavity.
CBP officers became aware something was amiss when drug sniffing dogs approached and began barking at 22-year-old Samantha Kurdilla, who had been walking arm-in-arm with James Perry, 44.
As the officers approached Kurdilla, James backed away and said, “I’m not with her.”
The two were detained and questioned, but Kurdilla twice denied bringing anything from Mexico. Asked where she was going in the U.S., Kurdilla said she and Perry were heading to the Best Western Hotel in San Diego after partying in the Tijuana.
Officers remained suspicious of Kurdilla, as she would not make eye contact and appeared to be under the influence of something. Perry told officers he and Kurdilla has been smoking marijuana in Mexico.
Though it is unclear how, agents determined Kurdilla had a condom filled with a white powdery substance in her vaginal cavity. The substance was tested and confirmed to be cocaine. Later when officials checked her phone, a text sent from Kurdilla’s phone read. “I’m smuggling cocaine and heroin in my coochie.”
Only 100 grams of cocaine were recovered, but the text may have been from a previous drug smuggling attempt.
After being read her rights, Kurdilla told officials Perry told her to stuff the drugs in her lady purse in exchange for compensation. The cocaine was worth several thousand dollars.
Kurdilla and Perry were arrested and charged with unlawful importation of a controlled substance and were booked in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in San Diego, California.
