A 16-year-old Georgia girl recently wowed the judges of American Idol, so we have to ask: do you think Isabel Gonzalez is the next idol?
Before she even had the opportunity to addition, Gonzalez was submitted to compete on the show by her aunt.
During an assembly at Alpharetta High School, judge Randy Jackson surprised Gonzalez with a contestant number to encourage her to audition.
When it came time for her audition in Charlotte, Gonzalez, though admittedly nervous, was able to walk out in front of the judges with confidence and sing Sam Cooke’s “Nothing Can Change This Love”.
After singing, all four judges expressed their love for the teenage singer.
“I’m absolutely head-over-heels in love with you,” said Nicki Minaj.
“You are so adorable. People are going to fall in love with you, because you are a star,” Mariah Carey gushed.
“Four seconds after you started singing, I’m like, ‘Let’s just vote yes,’” country singer Keith Urban confessed.
And Jackson shouted, “You’re going to Hollywood,” after each of the four judges voted for her to move on.
