An Albuquerque couple have been arrested on charges of manufacturing and distributing child pornography.

Fred Gonzales, 42, and his wife, Carey Gonzales, 36, were arrested in Bernalillo County after deputies found pornographic images of children on their computer. Both have admitted to viewing the images, with the Fred admitting he downloaded the videos and burned them to DVDs.

The husband is president of the New Mexico Young American Football League (YAFL) and his wife is a teacher’s assistant at Montezuma Elementary School.

Since the arrest, the YAFL has held an emergency meeting and named a new president. Members have said they found the news shocking, with one telling KOAT, ‘It’s hard to put together words right now.’

The locks to the YAFL building have also been changed.
