The iconic Henry’s Tacos of North Hollywood recently sold what may be its last taco after trouble with the property owner and failed business deals left the stand’s owner unable to keep it open.

Even after fans signed a petition to give the 51-year-old taco stand a historical designation Councilman Paul Krekorian did not pursue it and the nomination lapsed.

Owner Janis Hood, whose grandfather opened Henry’s Taco’s 51 years ago, said that though the stand is closing she hopes it will continue in a new location with its new owner.

Hood said she plans to transfer ownership of the stand to Omar Vega who has worked at Henry’s for 21 years.

As for the current location, it’s been rumored the building may be torn down and replaced with either a Starbucks or Coffee Bean.
