Today in Latin American history, Brazilian composer Luiz Bonfá died in 2001. Bonfá was a celebrated Bossa Nova composer who best known for the “Black Orpheus” soundtrack. The film won many film festival awards as well as an Academy Award. The success of the movie promoted Bonfá‘s music internationally.
