UPDATE:  The autopsy record has just come in on Janet Hardt who died after injecting hot beef fat into her face.  Apparently the 63-year-old Homewood, Illinois resident died from several abdominal inflammation caused by a bacterial infection.  The Cook County coroner found she had weakened walls in her colon that caused the bacterial infection.
The coroner ruled the death natural and did not relate the hot beef fact injections as a contributing cause of death.

ORIGINAL:  Authorities in Homewood, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, are looking into what role hot beef fat injections played in the death of Janet Hardt.

Hardt, age 63, routinely self- injected hot beef fat into her face around her mouth and chin.  This last time it apparently proved to be fatal.  The Homewood resident went to a local hospital claiming she felt ill and was experiencing burning sensation on her face, she died shortly thereafter.

The Cook County Medical Examiner will be conducting an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.  It is reported that Hardt had numerous cosmetic procedures on her face but was still self-injecting the hot beef fat to improve her appearance.

In each case, home surgery exposes the individual to potential infection from bacteria, as well as allergic reactions and injury to nerves and blood vessels can occur. So, what does this infer? I believe that this is a lesson to everybody. This poses a menace to anyone’s well-being because this may lead to death. Therefore, such therapy should not be taken casually.
