Five members of the Zeta Cartel were arrested by the Highway Patrol and the State Investigation Agency, accused of having participated in the execution of 12 men and 10 women, who were mostly incinerated.
Jorge Domene, State Security spokesman, said at a press conference that the defendants murdered their victims between April and August, in the town of Anahuac.
The suspects confessed their involvement in violence and betrayed their leader, whom he identified only by the name of “Edu”.
