A Brazilian grandmother was recently charged with drug smuggling after police found 55 crack rocks in her vagina. However, the septuagenarian claims she knew nothing about the drugs and believes her granddaughter must have put them up there without her knowledge.

Berenice Fernandes, 74, and her granddaughter, 33-year-old Glaucia Bispo, of Salvador, Brazil were at Fernandes’ home when police arrived after receiving a call from neighbors complaining of noise from a party.

As Fernandes and Bispo attempted to leave they were stopped by officers and the house was searched. A female officer examined both women and found Fernandes had plastic bags containing rocks of crack in her “lady purse”.

When questioned about the drugs, however, Fernandes claimed to have no idea how they got there, but suspected her granddaughter had put them in there as she slept.

Salvador police had already been watching the pair after growing suspicious that the recent spike in drug dealing in the northeast Brazilian city’s Boca do Rio area was because of them.

When they were searched, the women were also found to have what would amount to about $65 USD (about 130 BRL).

One question on everyone’s mind remains though.
