Friday, presidential candidate Mitt Romney criticized President Obama’s immigration policies, saying, “Our country must do a better job of securing its borders and as president, I will. That means completing construction of a high-tech fence, and investing in adequate manpower and resources.”

Romney shared these remarks in Tampa, Florida at the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, adding that he would go after employers who hire undocumented immigrants, requiring companies to use an employment verification system.

He also went on to say that those like Florida Sen. Marco Rubio’s parents, who came to the U.S. legally from Cuba are the perfect example of using the system as he believes it was intended.

Romney was the only top tier presidential candidate to speak to the RNHA, though fellow-candidate Herman Cain also spoke, along with former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
