Archaeologists in Peru uncovered ancient offerings at Machu Picchu this week and they believe the items are from the 15th century and earlier.

Among the artifacts recovered were stones, pottery, beads, a bronze clamps, and a ceremonial pot. The pot is believed to have been from between the Chimu period of 10th and 12th century with the rest being from the time of Incan ruler Pachacutec (1438 -1470 A.D. ) in the 15th century.

Archaeologists say the artifacts will be taken to the Machu Picchu Museum, where they can be studied further.

The items were found about 70 centimeters below the surface in a wayrana (three-walled patio) in the Temple of the Condor of Machu Picchu.
