Rising Disney star Bella Thorn recently shared her Latino pride in an interview with Radio Disney.

Born Annabella Avery Thorne in Florida, this rising star was born to a white mother of Irish and Italian decent and a father of Cuban decent. In 2007, Thorne tragically lost her father in a car accident.

Even though Thorne lost her Latino parent, she still carries on the traditions, and says she was even planning her Quinceañera.

Thorne’s first language was actually Spanish, and she says she so honored to have been recognized as a Latina and being nominated for an ALMA and Imagen Award. In August, Thorne actually won the Imagen Awards for Best Young Actress/Television for her role on the Disney Channel’s Shake It Up.

Check out this video in which she talks about being a young Latina and Hispanic Heritage Month with Radio Disney’s Jake Whetter.
