This flight was not showing the film “Snakes on a Plane”, but rather had cocaine hidden within the aircraft frame.

On July 27, 2011, CBP Officers at John F. Kennedy International Airport conducted an aircraft search on a flight arriving from Bogota, Colombia and found five brick packages within the left-side wall in the aft cargo hold area.  The CBP office has just released reports on this seizure.

CBP Officers were conducting an enforcement examination of the arriving aircraft when they discovered an anomaly within the wall of the aft cargo hold. Upon removing the panel they discovered five brick shaped packages that were tested positive for cocaine. CBP has officers that are FAA certified aircraft mechanics who conduct physical searches of the aircraft.

A total of 5.58 kilograms (12.32 pounds) of cocaine was seized; the estimated street value for this seizure is approximately $500,000.
