Two U.S. government employees riding in a U.S. embassy vehicle were shot near Mexico City earlier today.

The unidentified employees were on a highway leading to the city of Cuernavaca when they were fired upon, both were wounded.  The U.S. Embassy has yet to confirm or deny the report from AP – Mexico City.

Unconfirmed reports say the two employees were wounded but not killed.  The individuals were riding in an armored vehicle.

Mexico’s Excelsior is reporting that the government personnel might of been shot by Mexican federal police that were conducting road blocks on the highway from Mexico City to Cuernavaca, this report is unconfirmed.
