BREAKING NEWS:  Mexico Starts Evacuations as Ernesto Gets Upgraded to Category 1 Hurricane

The state government of Quintana Roo in Meixco have starting ordering evacuations from the coastal village of Punta Allen and other low-lying areas in preparation for Tropical Storm Ernesto that has now been upgraded to a Category 1 Hurricane.

As of 1pm CST the storm was located near the coast of Honduras.  Ernesto has maximum sustained winds of 80 mph as of this afternoon according to the National Hurricane Center and is 185 miles east of Chetumal, Mexico. 

Honduras avoided Ernesto staying off the Honduras coast in the sea.  No damages or injuries have been reported by the Honduras government. 

Hurricane Ernesto is expected to make landfill near the Yucatan Pennisula sometime tomorrow morning and the Bay of Campeche by Wednesday afternoon.
