A distraught father is pleading for the return of his teenage daughter after she disappeared from a treatment facility while out with friends.

On July 19, Brittany Navarro, 14, sneaked out of the Youth Consultation Service Center in Newark, New Jersey with a group of girls also being housed at the facility at around 8:45 p.m.

However, when the group returned, Brittany was not with them.

In April, Brittany was sent to the facility with behavioral issues. Her aunt has said her niece was unhappy and wanted to return home.

When the group of girls returned without Brittany at around 1 a.m., the facility called her father, Victor Navarro, who then called police. Though her whereabouts are unknown, police told Navarro his daughter is considered a runaway and not an abducted child. An Amber Alert has not gone out.

As for those the teen left the facility with, they told workers Brittany had wandered off at some point, but were not sure where.

Navarro says his daughter was not one to simply wander off by herself and along with family, has been scouring the neighborhood and putting up fliers in hopes of getting any information.

“I need my baby girl back home,” Navarro told NJ.com.

While an Amber Alert has not been issued, the Essex County Sheriff’s Office is leading the search for missing Brittany Navarro, who is described as being about 10 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5’2.
