Texan, Thelma Taormina, will go to any measure to stop the mandatory installation of new electric ‘smart meters’ even to the point of brandishing a gun.
The 55-year-old resident of Harris County didn’t want to be one of the more than 2 million residents who have a smart meter allowing the local energy company to digitally calculate the electrical bill and wirelessly transmit the information.
She and her husband are convinced these devices will give the government too much information on them and serve as ‘spy’ mechanisms. Sound crazy, right?
What is really crazy is that Thelma (where’s Louise by the way, we ask) whipped out her licensed gun to terrorize the meter installer off her property and no charges were pressed.
“Our constitution allows us not to have that kind of intrusion on our personal privacy,” she said to KHOU TV. “They’ll be able to tell if you are running your computer, air conditioner, whatever it is.”
